Knowledge sharing in the construction supply chain: collaborative innovation activities and BIM application on innovation performance

Qiao Shi et al.

Summary: This study explores the relationships among collaborative innovation activities, BIM application, explicit and tacit knowledge sharing, and innovation performance in the construction supply chain, proposing a relationship model and validating it through empirical analysis. The findings suggest that collaborative innovation activities have a positive impact on knowledge sharing and innovation performance, while BIM application influences explicit knowledge sharing and innovation performance. This research provides insights for understanding the role of knowledge sharing in collaborative innovation and the development of BIM in the construction supply chain.

Comparing Team Interactions in Traditional and BIM-Lean Design Management

Rodrigo F. Herrera et al.

Summary: The study reveals that design teams using BIM-lean management exhibit higher levels of interactions among team members compared to traditional teams, with transparent, orderly, and standardized information flows, a collaborative, trusting, and learning environment. These interaction elements were not visible in projects that did not apply BIM-lean management. A recommendation is made for future analysis of representative projects to draw conclusive statistical inferences.
