Quality alert from direct discrimination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in edible oil by liquid-interfacial surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Mengke Su et al.

Summary: Edible oil is susceptible to contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), requiring rapid screening for quality and safety. A technology has been developed for the rapid and direct detection of ultra-trace PAHs in oil without sample pretreatment. The study demonstrates the importance of rapid analysis and classification of benzopyrene content in oil for food safety.
