On p-form gauge theories and their conformal limits

Igor Bandos et al.

Summary: This paper clarifies the relationships between various formulations of nonlinear p-form electrodynamics, focusing on the duality invariant (2n - 1)-form electrodynamics and chiral 2n-form electrodynamics. It introduces a new family of chiral 2-form electrodynamics in D = 6 and shows the dimensional reduction relationship between weak-field limits and the ModMax generalization of Maxwell's equations. Additionally, it demonstrates the dimensional reduction of chiral 'strong-field' 2n-form electrodynamics to a new Sl(2; )-duality invariant theory of (2n - 1)-form electrodynamics for n > 1.

Black hole thermodynamics in the presence of nonlinear electromagnetic fields

A. Bokulic et al.

Summary: This study rederives the first law of black hole mechanics in the presence of nonlinear electrodynamics fields and discusses the validity of energy conditions, complementary proofs of the zeroth law of black hole electrodynamics, and aspects of the recently generalized Smarr formula, including its (non-)linearity and relation to the first law.

Compatibility of nonlinear electrodynamics models with Robinson-Trautman geometry

T. Tahamtan

Summary: The study investigates Robinson-Trautman solutions with nonlinear electrodynamics for both L(F) and L(F, G) Lagrangians, focusing on models representing regular black holes. The results demonstrate the clear uniqueness of Maxwell electrodynamics in terms of compatibility with the Robinson-Trautman class. Regular black hole models are not suitable for this class, and the famous Born-Infeld model highlights a key distinction between L(F) and L(F, G) in terms of the electric field obtained when the magnetic field is nontrivial.
