Influence of endodontic cavity access on curved root canal preparation with ProDesign Logic rotary instruments

Gabiana Rodrigues Freitas et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the influence of endodontic cavity access into molars on the chemomechanical preparation of curved root canals. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the transport and centralization of endodontic instruments between conventional and minimally invasive access types. Therefore, the type of cavity access did not affect the preparation of curved root canals with 0.25 and 0.04 taper instruments.

Influence of access cavity design on fracture strength of endodontically treated lower molars

Aline Maske et al.

Summary: The type of access cavity preparation does not significantly affect the fracture strength of endodontically treated molars, with all teeth with endodontic access showing a higher incidence of fractures at the pulp chamber floor level even with restoration.

Does the type of endodontic access influence in the cyclic fatigue resistance of reciprocating instruments?

Emmanuel Joao Nogueira Leal Silva et al.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the cyclic fatigue resistance of Reciproc R25 and Reciproc Blue R25 instruments in traditional and ultraconservative endodontic access cavities. The results showed that R25B had significantly higher cyclic fatigue resistance than R25, but when used in ultraconservative access cavities, both instruments showed decreased resistance.

Preserving dentine in minimally invasive access cavities does not strength fracture resistance of restored mandibular molars

E. J. N. L. Silva et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the correlation between the volume of dental hard tissues removed and the fracture resistance of mandibular molar teeth with different access cavity preparations. The results showed that although more hard tissue was removed with traditional access cavity preparation compared to ultraconservative, there was no significant difference in the fracture resistance between the two groups, suggesting that a minimally invasive approach did not increase the resistance of restored mandibular molars to fracture.
