Microstructure of polycrystalline gold nanoparticles and thin-films from a comparative X-ray line profile analysis

Ana C. Murrieta et al.

Summary: X-ray line profile analysis was used to study the microstructures of gold nanoparticles and gold thin-films, revealing larger crystallite size and lower dislocation density in AuTFs compared to AuNPs. The differences in strain, average distances among dislocations, and broadening effects were observed between AuNPs and AuTFs, suggesting different mechanisms contributing to the line broadening in the two types of samples.

Impact of Silver Doping on the Crystalline Size and Intrinsic Strain of MPA-Capped CdTe Nanocrystals: A Study by Williamson-Hall Method and Size-Strain Plot Method

Pijush Ch Dey et al.

Summary: The study prepared CdTe and Ag doped CdTe nanocrystals capped by 3-mercaptopropionic acid through a chemical method. The results showed that silver doping slightly decreased the average size of nanocrystals and increased the intrinsic strain and other elastic properties significantly.

Structural and optical properties of Mg modified ZnO nanoparticles: An x-ray peak broadening analysis

Gunjan Srinet et al.

Summary: This study investigated the structural, microstructural, and optical properties of Mg-doped ZnO nanoparticles prepared through thermal decomposition route. Rietveld analysis revealed a hexagonal wurtzite structure with changes in lattice parameters and bond length. SEM analysis showed morphological changes in the nanoparticles with different Mg doping concentrations, while UV-Visible spectroscopy and PL studies provided insights into the optical characteristics of the material.

Facile synthesis and characterization of TiO2 nanoparticles: X-ray peak profile analysis using Williamson-Hall and Debye-Scherrer methods

S. Mustapha et al.

Summary: This study synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles using a sol-gel method, examining the effects of stirring time and solution pH on morphology, phase types, and crystallite sizes. The results indicated that stirring time and solution pH significantly influenced the crystallite sizes, but not the phase types.
