Matter trispectrum: theoretical modelling and comparison to N-body simulations

Davide Gualdi et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the power spectrum, bispectrum, and i-trispectrum, finding that the i-trispectrum provides significant improvements in constraining local primordial non-Gaussianity amplitude parameters. Using simulated data, the added-value provided by the i-trispectrum is quantified, showing up to a 32% reduction in constraints on f(nl) in redshift space compared to constraints obtained without the i-trispectrum.

Loop corrections to the power spectrum for massive neutrino cosmologies with full time- and scale-dependence

Mathias Garny et al.

Summary: The study presents an algorithm that takes into account the full time- and scale-dependence of fluid dynamics to assess the impact of neutrino free-streaming on the matter power spectrum. Deviations above 1% for k > 0.15 h/Mpc at z = 0 and sub-percent agreement on weakly non-linear scales at z = 0.5 were found when using a commonly adopted scheme with cold dark matter+baryon perturbations and EdS kernels for computing non-linear corrections.

Cosmological parameters from the likelihood analysis of the galaxy power spectrum and bispectrum in real space

Andrea Oddo et al.

Summary: In this study, a joint likelihood analysis of the halo power spectrum and bispectrum in real space was conducted using a large set of numerical simulations and halo mock catalogs. Constraints on bias and cosmological parameters were derived, and a reference bias model dependent on seven parameters was selected based on the Deviance Information Criterion. This model accurately recovers three selected cosmological parameters even for extreme simulation volumes, demonstrating the importance of considering relations among bias parameters and full covariance estimation from mock catalogs.

The Stars of the HETDEX Survey. I. Radial Velocities and Metal-poor Stars from Low-resolution Stellar Spectra

Keith Hawkins et al.

Summary: The HETDEX survey has released a stellar value-added catalog with 120,571 low-resolution spectra for 98,736 unique stars, including radial velocity measurements for about 42,000 FGK-type stars. The spectra also allow for determination of a star's T (eff), log g, and [Fe/H], as well as the identification of 416 new candidate metal-poor stars. These results demonstrate the potential utility of future low-resolution stellar spectroscopic surveys.

Cosmology with the Roman Space Telescope - multiprobe strategies

Tim Eifler et al.

Summary: In this study, the scientific performance of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope High Latitude Survey (HLS) on dark energy and modified gravity is simulated. By exploring multiprobe strategies and accounting for observational systematics, it is found that the HLS reference survey can achieve a standard dark energy Figure of Merit (FoM) of >300 without using external data sets. This research contributes to a community-driven effort to simulate and optimize the science return of the Roman Space Telescope.

Testing one-loop galaxy bias: Joint analysis of power spectrum and bispectrum

Alexander Eggemeier et al.

Summary: In this study, a joint likelihood analysis of the real-space power spectrum and bispectrum measured from various halo and galaxy mock catalogs is presented, validating the stringentness of the one-loop correction model for galaxy bias compared to the tree-level bispectrum model. The results show that the one-loop corrections roughly double the applicable range of scales, leading to significant improvements in constraints on the linear bias parameter and the amplitude of fluctuations A(s).

Precise calibration of the one-loop trispectrum in the effective field theory of large scale structure

Theodore Steele et al.

Summary: The paper introduces the effective field theory of the large-scale structure of the Universe and its counterterms calibration for the one-loop trispectrum, revealing clear evidence of EFT corrections and good corrections for residuals at small scales. By using amplitudes calculated in the bispectrum, the consistency of counterterms in the two, three, and four point functions is established. The commonly used Einstein-de Sitter approximation for the growth of density fields is shown to lead to errors of the same magnitude as loop corrections to the trispectrum.

Precise calibration of the one-loop bispectrum in the effective field theory of large scale structure

Theodore Steele et al.

Summary: In this paper, a detailed test and calibration of matter bispectrum counterterms in the effective field theory of large scale structure against N-body simulations was conducted, revealing deviations of new counterterms from the shape suggested by the UV limit of relevant bispectrum contributions. The study also showed the necessity of using ACDM growth factors for accurate one-loop counterterm constraints due to deviations in growth factors arising from time integration inaccuracies in N-body simulations.

Covariance of the matter power spectrum including the survey window function effect: N-body simulations versus fifth-order perturbation theory on grids

Atsushi Taruya et al.

Summary: A higher-order calculation for the covariance matrix of the matter power spectrum is presented, taking into account the effect of survey window functions. The method quickly generates multiple realizations of nonlinear density fields and computes the covariance originating from the one-loop trispectrum without explicitly computing the trispectrum. Comparing with N-body results, the NNLO GridSPT results reproduce well on quasilinear scales, with the survey window function effect incorporated straightforwardly.
