The charged filament in a linear electrodynamic trap can capture charged particles, serving as an additional trap within the Paul trap.
A charged filament stretched along the axis of a linear electrodynamic trap performs an oscillatory-rotational motion, as a result of which charged particles are captured by the filament in the regions of antinodes. Such a dynamic thread is actually an additional trap inside the Paul trap.
