Zeolite Materials for Biomass Conversion to Biofuel

The use of zeolite catalysts for the production of biofuels from biomass is reviewed. Zeolites as such or modified by the addition of other active phases are used in several processes for the transformation of the biomass and for the upgrading of the bio-oils deriving from its primary treatment. For each of the different processes, the most relevant results reported in the literature are provided together with some considerations on the effective or potential industrial applicability of the technologies.
