The paper focuses on analyzing the parametric mode interaction in second harmonic gyrotrons, presenting equations describing instability and calculating the region of instability in terms of frequency mismatches. Numerical self-consistent simulations are used to complement the general theory.
The paper is devoted to the analysis of parametric mode interaction in second harmonic gyrotrons. We present the equations describing this instability, derived in the fixed field structure approximation, and the calculation of the region of instability in the plane of the frequency mismatches between the operating and parasitic modes. Numerical self-consistent simulations complement the treatment performed in the framework of the general theory.
