Current-Limiting Virtual Synchronous Control and Stability Analysis Considering DC-Link Dynamics Under Normal and Faulty Grid Conditions

Seyfullah Dedeoglu et al.

Summary: In this paper, an improved nonlinear virtual synchronous control for three-phase grid-connected inverters is proposed. It ensures reliable operation under normal and faulty grid conditions, and achieves faster system recovery after significant grid voltage sags by limiting the actual value of the inverter current. The effectiveness and superior performance of the proposed controller are demonstrated through simulations and hardware-in-the-loop implementation.

Step-by-Step Design Procedure for LCL-Type Single-Phase Grid Connected Inverter Using Digital Proportional-Resonant Controller With Capacitor-Current Feedback

Guilherme Renkel Wehmuth et al.

Summary: This paper presents the design procedure for an LCL-type Grid Connected Inverter (GCI) and reviews the main topics related to its project. The procedure systematically describes steps for designing the LCL filter, the digital proportional-resonant current compensator, and the capacitor-current-feedback active-damping. The proposed step-by-step process is more simplified than similar procedures and a case study using Virtual Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) simulator is also presented with discussed results.

Effect Of Inverter-Interfaced Distributed Generation On Negative Sequence Directional Element Using Typhoon Real-Time Hardware In The Loop (HIL)

Oluwatimilehin Adeosun et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the issue of mis-operation of traditional protection relays due to increased IBDG penetration. Many studies have been conducted on the protection of IBDG networks, but protection equipment exclusively for IBDG applications have not yet been developed. The mis-operation of the Negative Sequence Voltage Polarized (NSVP) directional element caused by IBDG will be investigated using a real-time simulation platform and a Hardware in the Loop (HIL) protection relay.
