An Uncertainty-Aware Transfer Learning-Based Framework for COVID-19 Diagnosis

Summary: Early and reliable detection of COVID-19 is crucial in preventing its spread. This study introduces a deep uncertainty-aware transfer learning framework for COVID-19 detection using medical images. Experimental results show that linear support vector machine and neural network models achieve the best performance in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, and predictive uncertainty estimates. Additionally, CT images exhibit higher uncertainty compared to X-ray images.
