Nanophytosynthesis of silver nanoparticles by plant-mediated hydromethanolic extract from Hypericum scabrum seeds and investigation of those physicochemical properties and antimicrobial activity are reported. The nanoparticles were analyzed and characterized by UV-Vis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscope, and Fourier transform infrared radiation (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The XRD study showed that the particles are crystalline in nature with a face-centered cubic (fcc) structure and a mean size of 19.8 nm. The FT-IR studies of plant extract taken before and after synthesis of nanoparticles showed the possible functional groups responsible for the formation of nanoparticles. The bioassay showed that the silver nanoparticles exhibited a good antimicrobial activity.
