'It's more than just mentoring': critical mentoring Black and Latino males from college to the community

Summary: This qualitative study examined the engagement and leadership experiences of 12 Black and Latino male college students at a Hispanic-serving institution, focusing on their roles as mentors for youth of color and the components that shaped their leadership. The students emphasized the importance of community commitment, serving as role models, and using a person-first approach to enrich students holistically. Their narratives highlight the significance of community cultural wealth and the potential for these experiences to enhance leadership skills among college men of color.
