The effects of acculturation and environment on lifestyle behaviors in Korean immigrants: the mediating role of acculturative stress and body image discrepancy

Chorong Park et al.

Summary: This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the relationships among acculturation, environment, and lifestyle behaviors (dietary behavior, physical activity, and sedentary behavior) in middle-aged Korean immigrants. Results showed that acculturation had significant indirect effects on dietary behavior, physical activity, and sedentary behavior through body image discrepancy. Additionally, environmental support for physical activity and healthy food accessibility were associated with healthier lifestyle behaviors in Korean immigrants.
