Induction and transmission of oncogene-induced senescence

Nattaphong Rattanavirotkul et al.

Summary: Senescence is a cellular stress response triggered by diverse stressors and can act as a tumor suppressor mechanism, with the ability to be transmitted to neighboring cells. Recent evidence suggests a more complex scenario for secondary senescence, involving juxtacrine communication between cells, and differences have been noted between primary and secondary senescent endpoints.

Intraarterial delivery of virotherapy for glioblastoma

Visish M. Srinivasan et al.

Summary: Oncolytic viruses have been used in cancer treatment since the 1990s, with increasing interest in treating glioblastome in recent clinical trials through intraarterial delivery. This review discusses the unique applications of IA delivery of OVs, as well as the synergies with immunotherapy and the potential shortcomings and feasibility of treatment. Future studies may focus on preclinical identification of ideal candidates for translation into clinical trials and further exploration of this novel delivery method.

The Current State of Oncolytic Herpes Simplex Virus for Glioblastoma Treatment

Hong-My Nguyen et al.

Summary: Oncolytic herpes simplex viruses (oHSVs) are considered a promising treatment option for glioblastoma (GBM), and significant progress has been made in both preclinical and clinical studies over the years. However, there are still obstacles that need to be overcome in utilizing oHSV-based therapies for GBM treatment.

The Anticancer Potential of T Cell Receptor-Engineered T Cells

Matyas Ecsedi et al.

Summary: Adoptively transferred TCR-transgenic T cells are not restricted by cell surface expression of targets and have the potential to play a key role in cellular cancer immunotherapies. By selecting ideal TCRs, enhancing TCR-T function, expansion, memory formation, and gene-engineering strategies, novel TCR-T therapies can be efficiently deployed.

Targeting Glioblastoma: Advances in Drug Delivery and Novel Therapeutic Approaches

Eilam Yeini et al.

Summary: Glioblastoma (GB) is the most lethal type of primary tumor in the central nervous system, with highly invasive and angiogenic properties, leading to therapy resistance and disease relapse. The blood brain barrier restricts drug uptake, therefore, efforts are focusing on developing novel nanomedicines that can cross the BBB and target cancer cells.
