2D Conductive Metal-Organic Frameworks: An Emerging Platform for Electrochemical Energy Storage

Jingjuan Liu et al.

Summary: Two-dimensional conductive metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs) have attracted extensive attention for their predictable structures, high electrical conductivity, and inherent permanent porosity, making them a promising platform for electrical devices. Recent research highlights the design strategies, unique electrical properties, and potential applications of 2D c-MOFs in electrochemical energy storage. Elucidating the structure-function correlations may guide the development of next-generation energy storage devices based on 2D c-MOFs.

Recent Progress of Nanoscale Metal-Organic Frameworks in Synthesis and Battery Applications

Ming Zhong et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted widespread attention as a promising inorganic-organic hybrid crystal material, particularly in energy storage and conversion. Effective strategies have been developed to construct uniform nanoscale MOFs (NMOFs) with shorter diffusion pathways, more accessible active sites, and opportunities for post-functionalization and hybridization. Recent applications of NMOFs in batteries as electrodes, separators, and electrolytes have also been discussed.

ZIF-8 Metal-Organic Framework Electrochemical Biosensor for the Detection of Protein-Protein Interaction

Luciana D. Trino et al.

Summary: A new label-free electrochemical biosensor based on Zeolitic Imidazole Framework (ZIF-8) was developed for monitoring protein-protein interactions (PPIs). The ZIF-8 crystals exhibited a rhombic dodecahedral structure with mainly exposed facets and a mean particle size of 205 (+/- 22) nm. The biosensor demonstrated higher sensitivity and reproducibility compared to the conventional solid-phase binding assay.

From Macro- to Nanoscale: Finite Size Effects on Metal-Organic Framework Switchability

Sebastian Ehrling et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have shown great potentials in energy storage, separation, sensing, and catalysis, and integrating such materials into thin films and biological applications through nanostructuring is crucial. However, downsizing below critical dimensions can lead to dramatic changes in MOF's dynamic behavior and responsiveness towards external stimuli.
