Improved objective Bayesian estimator for a PLP model hierarchically represented subject to competing risks under minimal repair regime

Francisco Louzada et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a hierarchical statistical model for a single repairable system with multiple failure modes using Bayesian methods. Repairs are assumed to be minimal and each failure mode follows a power-law intensity. The study extends a previously proposed model and discusses the properties of the new model. Statistical inference is conducted under an objective Bayesian framework, and the efficiency of the proposed methods is investigated through simulation studies. The methodology is illustrated with practical situations from a project partnership between Petrobras and six research institutes.

Stress-Strength Reliability for Exponentiated Inverted Weibull Distribution with Application on Breaking of Jute Fiber and Carbon Fibers

Wael S. Abu El Azm et al.

Summary: This article discusses the estimation of unknown parameters and stress-strength reliability for exponentiated inverted Weibull (EIW) distributions using an entire sample and compares eight different estimation methods. The results show that the maximum product of spacing method is more competitive than the other methods. Furthermore, through Monte Carlo simulation studies, a better estimation method was discovered.

Parametric inference of Akash distribution for Type-II censoring with analyzing of relief times of patients

Tahani A. Abushal

Summary: This paper investigates the estimation of Akash distribution parameters when the lifetime of the product follows Type-II censoring, studying maximum likelihood estimators and Bayesian inference procedures. Approximate confidence intervals and highest posterior density intervals are derived, and the methods are compared through a Monte Carlo simulation study. The application to real data is also analyzed.

Inference of fuzzy reliability model for inverse Rayleigh distribution

Mohamed A. H. Sabry et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the inference of reliability parameter in fuzzy stress strength interference by introducing the maximum product of spacing method, utilizing classical and Bayesian estimation methods. The study also introduces the maximum product of spacing under fuzzy reliability of stress strength model to make more sensitive and precise analyses about the underlying systems.

The extended generalized inverted Kumaraswamy Weibull distribution: Properties and applications

Qasim Ramzan et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new six-parameter extension of the Weibull distribution, known as the EGIKw-Weibull, commonly used for modeling lifetime data. Various useful properties of the new distribution are derived and investigated using Monte Carlo simulation to study maximum likelihood estimator (MLE). Two real applications are presented in the paper.
