Black Soldier Fly Full-Fat Larvae Meal Is More Profitable Than Fish Meal and Fish Oil in Siberian Sturgeon Farming: The Effects on Aquaculture Sustainability, Economy and Fish GIT Development

Mateusz Rawski et al.

Summary: The study assessed the impact of black soldier fly full-fat larvae meal (BSFL) on the environmental and economic aspects of Siberian sturgeon nutrition, finding the optimal incorporation levels at 10% and 15%. BSFL positively affected feed efficiency ratio and usage of FM and FO, while also improving gastrointestinal tract development. Overall, BSFL showed high sustainability and favorable economics as a functional material in Siberian sturgeon diets.
