Myocardial Fibrosis as a Predictor of Sudden Death in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease

Abbasin Zegard et al.

Summary: In patients with coronary artery disease, assessment of myocardial fibrosis along with quantification of GZF mass is more strongly predictive of sudden cardiac death and ventricular arrhythmias than left ventricular ejection fraction. This approach may be preferred in selecting patients for implantable cardioverter-defibrillators.
