Human Activities Impact Prediction in Vegetation Diversity of Lar National Park in Iran Using Artificial Neural Network Model

Ali Jahani et al.

Summary: The study introduced how to use an artificial neural network model to predict the impact of human activities on vegetation diversity in Iran's Lar National Park, evaluating the relationships between different stressors and effects through surveying vegetation sample plots. The results showed that the MLP model could effectively predict the impact of human activities on vegetation diversity.

Effective Management Practices for Increasing Native Plant Diversity on Mesquite Savanna-Texas Wintergrass-Dominated Rangelands

Darrel B. Murray et al.

Summary: The conversion of native grassland plant communities into low-diversity plant communities due to long-term overgrazing and fire suppression in Texas has led to severe degradation and population declines of some native bird species. Through a small-plot study, effective management actions such as combining herbicide treatments, prescribed burns, and grazing have been identified to promote diversity and restoration of local plant communities.

Simulation and impact assessment of future land use and land cover changes in two protected areas in Tehran, Iran

Parvaneh Sobhani et al.

Summary: The study revealed that land use and cover changes in protected areas in Tehran province, Iran, have exceeded management plan standards, leading to destruction of valuable biological habitats. In the future, built-up areas will continue to increase while high-density pasture will decrease. Without proper planning and managerial strategies, such changes will result in ecosystem destruction and species extinction.

Ecological risk assessment of coal mine area based on source-sink landscape theory e A case study of Pingshuo mining area

Jiansheng Wu et al.

Summary: Coal mining plays a crucial role in economic and social progress, but it also poses significant ecological risks. A new methodology for analyzing and evaluating ecological risks was proposed in this study, with results indicating that environmental disturbances from mining production are the main risk source, while pollution risks mainly stem from residents' activities. High-risk areas are clustered around the risk sources, highlighting the adverse impact of mining practices on surrounding natural ecosystems.
