Fractional and composite excitations of antiferromagnetic quantum spin trimer chains

Jun-Qing Cheng et al.

Summary: By using quantum Monte Carlo, exact diagonalization, and perturbation theory, we have studied the spectrum of the S = 1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg trimer chain. We found that the spectrum exhibits different behaviors, including the formation of doublons, quartons, and spinons, as the ratio of the coupling strengths changes. Our results provide a window for further exploration of high-energy fractional excitations.

Topological phase transition and single/multi anyon dynamics of Z2 spin liquid

Zheng Yan et al.

Summary: The study focused on the excitation spectra of quantum dimer models on a triangular lattice, revealing the transitions of single vison excitations and the emergence of important symmetries during the QSL-VBS transition. Utilizing the sweeping cluster quantum Monte Carlo algorithm, a new method for understanding the static and dynamic properties of QDMs was developed.

Amplitude Mode in Quantum Magnets via Dimensional Crossover

Chengkang Zhou et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the amplitude (Higgs) mode associated with longitudinal fluctuations of the order parameter at the continuous spontaneous symmetry breaking phase transition. By using quantum Monte Carlo simulations, stochastic analytic continuation, and a chain-mean field approach combined with a mapping to the field-theoretic sine-Gordon model, the amplitude mode is successfully observed in a weakly coupled spin chain system in a quasi-one-dimensional geometry. The study also compares the amplitude mode in different dimensions and finds that in contrast to higher-dimensional systems, the amplitude and bond order fluctuations carry significant spectral weight in the quasi-1D limit.

Modified strong-coupling treatment of a spin-1/2 Heisenberg trimerized chain developed from the exactly solved Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain

Taras Verkholyak et al.

Summary: By studying a quantum spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg trimerized chain with specific coupling constants using many-body perturbation expansion, it was found that this approach outperforms standard perturbation schemes and is comparable to state-of-the-art numerical techniques. The Heisenberg trimerized chain exhibits an intermediate one-third plateau, observed in the magnetization curve of the polymeric compound Cu-3(P2O6OH)(2).

Surface critical behavior of coupled Haldane chains

Wenjing Zhu et al.

Summary: (English Summary:) In a two-dimensional system, different surface critical behaviors were observed without dimerization. Surfaces along the chain direction showed typical critical behavior, while those perpendicular to the chain direction displayed nonordinary behavior, consistent with transitions found in dimerized Heisenberg models.
