Third-order nonlinear Hall effect induced by the Berry-connection polarizability tensor

Shen Lai et al.

Summary: Nonlinear responses in transport measurements are linked to material properties not accessible at linear order due to distinct symmetry requirements. Recent experiments on ultrathin WTe2 demonstrate the connection between crystal structure and nonlinear response. Theory predicts that another intrinsic band geometric property, the Berry-connection polarizability tensor, may give rise to higher-order signals.

Superconducting FeSe monolayer with millielectronvolt Fermi energy

Wantong Huang et al.

Summary: Iron selenide monolayers exhibit smaller electron and hole pocket sizes compared to bulk, with the Fermi energy tunable by the thickness of graphene layers underneath. Despite the low carrier density, monolayers grown on multilayer graphene can still show superconductivity. The superconducting gap size is sensitive to the Fermi energy of the hole band, providing the opportunity to study physics in the crossover regime.
