Antifungal Activity of Chaetoviridin A from Chaetomium globosum CEF-082 Metabolites Against Verticillium dahliae in Cotton

Yun Zhang et al.

Summary: The biocontrol agent CEF-082 and its metabolic products can reduce the incidence of Cotton Verticillium wilt and enhance the sensitivity of Verticillium dahliae to stress. The active compound chaetoviridin A is highly effective against V. dahliae and enhances the defense response of cotton plants.

Composition of Rhizosphere Microbial Communities Associated With Healthy and Verticillium Wilt Diseased Cotton Plants

Feng Wei et al.

Summary: The study investigated the rhizosphere microbial communities associated with Verticillium wilt symptoms in two cotton cultivars. Diseased plants had a higher total fungal/bacterial biomass ratio and lower bacterial alpha diversity in their rhizosphere compared to healthy plants. The fungal alpha diversity differences depended on cultivars, and there were large differences in both fungal and bacterial communities between healthy and diseased plants.
