Summary: Forecasting changes in international migration patterns is important for demographic studies and policy design. A dynamic model can accurately predict future international migration flows, and different economic development scenarios will lead to diverse migration trajectories.

How climate change leads to emigration: Conditional and long-run effects

Marc Helbling et al.

Summary: The study found that both increasing temperatures and precipitation levels have an impact on migration patterns. Increasing temperatures only lead to low-skilled migration, are influential in countries located in hotter parts of the world, and materialize in the long run. Additionally, low-skilled out-migration is also responsive to short- and long-run precipitation changes.
