Summary: Hybrid composites offer higher performances and improved mechanical properties compared to polymer composites. This study investigated the mechanical properties of Phenol-Formaldehyde (PF) hybrid biocomposites reinforced with randomly oriented Calotropis gigantea Fiber (CGFs) and Palmyra fiber (PFs), including tensile, flexural, and impact properties. The results showed that adding Palmyra fiber improved the mechanical properties of the hybrid composite, especially at higher fiber volume percentages. Variation in fiber length also had a significant effect on the mechanical properties. Additionally, the water absorption of the composites increased with the increase in fiber volume percentage, reaching equilibrium after 120 hours. Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) images were used to examine the failure mechanism of the composites during mechanical testing.

Summary: The investigation studied the effects of water absorption on the mechanical properties of hybrid PF composites with AFFs and CGF. The 35 wt% fiber-reinforced hybrid composite showed the best mechanical properties under wet and dry conditions. Increasing fiber content increased water absorption, but all composites reached equilibrium after 120 hours of immersion.

Summary: The study investigated the effect of hybridisation on Kevlar/E-Glass based epoxy composite laminate structures. Composite laminates with different fibre orientations were tested for tensile strength, flexural strength, impact resistance, and energy absorption. Results showed that composites with Kevlar fibres oriented at 45 degrees exhibited superior mechanical properties compared to those with 0 and 60 degrees orientations.

Summary: The study compares the properties of stainless steel composites prepared with different volume percentages of zinc oxide and fly ash. The composite consisted of 90% stainless steel, with 2% incremental increase in fly ash and 2% incremental decrease in zinc oxide. After annealing and heat treatment, properties such as yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and shear strength were experimentally measured and analyzed with various plots to determine the specimen with the best microstructure.
