Acinetobacter Sepsis Among Out-born Neonates Admitted to Neonatal Unit in Pediatric Emergency of a Tertiary Care Hospital in North India

Swati Mahich et al.

Summary: Acinetobacter spp. sepsis is prevalent among out-born neonates in northern India, with high resistance to cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, aminoglycosides, pipercillin-tazobactum, tetracyclines, and carbapenems. Infants with Acinetobacter spp. sepsis have higher rates of complications, require mechanical ventilation and vasoactive drugs for treatment, and have poorer survival outcomes.
