Efficient degradation of organic dye using Ni-MOF derived NiCo-LDH as peroxymonosulfate activator

Summary: Ni-based metal-organic framework (Ni-MOF) was used as a sacrificial template to prepare nickel-cobalt layered double hydroxide (NiCo-LDH) with controlled morphology, which showed high-efficiency PMS activation and dye degradation performance. The NiCo-LDH/10 sample exhibited a large specific surface area and well-oriented sheet structure, making it an excellent heterogeneous catalyst.

Fabricating yolk-shell structured CoTiO3@Co3O4 nanoreactor via a simple self-template method toward high-performance peroxymonosulfate activation and organic pollutant degradation

Summary: The novel yolk-shell structured CoTiO3@Co3O4 nanoreactor exhibited high efficiency for PMS activation and showed low cobalt leaching while maintaining almost unchanged catalytic activity in cyclic degradation processes. The possible catalytic mechanism was proposed based on ESR analysis and quenching experiments, and the mineralization degree in the degradation process was found to be 79.5% via TOC analysis. LC/MS was employed to identify intermediates and the corresponding degradation pathway was elucidated, demonstrating that the CoTiO3@Co3O4 nanoreactor was highly efficient in activating PMS for degradation of various recalcitrant organic pollutants.

N-coordinated Co containing porous carbon as catalyst with improved dispersity and stability to activate peroxymonosulfate for degradation of organic pollutants

Summary: The study presents a carbonaceous catalyst with N-coordinated Co (Co-NG) prepared using a mixture of Co phthalocyanine and melamine as precursor for PMS activation. The catalyst shows high catalytic activity and stability for the degradation of various organic pollutants, with sulfate radicals (SO4 center dot-) identified as the main reactive species. Reactions parameters including solution pH, inorganic anions, and natural organic matters were also evaluated, providing insights for designing efficient Co-based carbonaceous catalysts with high Co stability for water treatment applications.

CoO-3D ordered mesoporous carbon nitride (CoO@mpgCN) composite as peroxymonosulfate activator for the degradation of sulfamethoxazole in water

Summary: The CoO@mpgCN/PMS system showed high catalytic reactivity and SMX removal efficiency over a wide pH range, with stable and consistent degradation capacity for at least five consecutive cycles. The significant catalysis performance was attributed to the uniformly distributed mesopores, large specific surface area, and high electron transfer ability of CoO@mpgCN at the active CoO sites, leading to a radical chain reaction mechanism for SMX degradation.

Activation of peroxymonosulfate by CoFeNi layered double hydroxide/graphene oxide (LDH/GO) for the degradation of gatifloxacin

Summary: In this study, CoFeNi LDH/GO composites were successfully designed and synthesized for activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS), showing effective degradation of gatifloxacin (GAT) antibiotics. Through inserting graphene oxide (GO) into the layer structure of layered double hydroxide (LDH), the surface functional groups of GO were immobilized in LDH, allowing for the continuous catalysis of the LDH/GO composites. The LDH/GO system demonstrated stable catalytic performance in removing pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) from wastewater.

Activating peroxydisulfate with Co3O4/NiCo2O4 double-shelled nanocages to selectively degrade bisphenol A - A nonradical oxidation process

Summary: In this study, a Co3O4/NiCo2O4 double-shelled nanocage was fabricated and used as a catalyst for the degradation of BPA by activating PDS, showing superior performance. The double shelled hollow structure helped increase the concentration of reactants and promote the decomposition of BPA. The research indicated that MOF-derived nanomaterials with a hollow structure have promising application prospects in oxidation technology.

Degradation of sulfamethoxazole by Co3O4-palygorskite composites activated peroxymonosulfate oxidation
