Compression-rate dependence of pressure-induced phase transitions in Bi

Rachel J. Husband et al.

Summary: In this study, the shift of phase boundaries in bismuth under fast compression rates was observed, with an over-pressurization at the Bi-III/Bi-V phase boundary. The work opens up possibilities for future studies of transition kinetics at previously unreachable compression rates.
