Simultaneous three-translational-axis vibration test that considers non-Gaussianity

Akira Hosoyama et al.

Summary: This study developed a simultaneous three-translational-axis vibration test that considers the three-axis simultaneity of shock events to accurately simulate actual transport vibration environments. Experiment results showed that the collapse time obtained using vibration data with the three-axis simultaneity of shock events was closer to actual transport vibration data, indicating that a test without considering the three-axis simultaneity may give different results.

The asymptotic analysis and stability of 3DOF non-linear damped rigid body pendulum near resonance

I. M. Abady et al.

Summary: This article investigates the motion of a three-degrees-of-freedom nonlinear dynamic mechanism described by a damped rigid body pendulum. The asymptotic and steady-state solutions of the system equations are obtained, and stability analysis and simulations are conducted. The graphical representation shows the effects of various physical parameters on the motion.

Numerical study of a pendulum absorber/harvester system with a semi-active suspension

Krzysztof Kecik

Summary: This study presents a numerical analysis of an absorber/harvester system installed on semi-active suspension with the goal of mitigating vibration in the primary structure while simultaneously harvesting energy. The pendulum tuned mass absorber has been modified with a magnetic levitation harvester, and a semi-active suspension system consisting of MR damper and SMA spring is proposed for controlling dynamic response. Proper parameter configurations can effectively achieve energy harvesting along with vibration mitigation in the host system.

Periodic Property and Instability of a Rotating Pendulum System

Ji-Huan He et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the dynamical properties of a pendulum attached to a rotating rigid frame with a constant angular velocity. The analytic solution of the governing nonlinear differential equation of motion is obtained using He's homotopy perturbation method. The obtained solution is verified for high accuracy using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method and He's frequency formulation. The stability condition of the motion is examined and discussed, and the impact of different parameters on the dynamical motion is revealed through graphical representations of time histories.
