Prospects for quarkonium studies at the high-luminosity LHC

Emilien Chapon et al.

Summary: The prospects for quarkonium-production studies in the upcoming high luminosity phases of the CERN Large Hadron Collider operation after 2021 are reviewed, with a focus on current issues, potential future studies, and the utilization of huge data samples. The investigations include various aspects such as quarkonia constraints on PDFs and parton dynamics, gluon Sivers effect, properties of quark-gluon plasma, and double and triple parton scatterings.

Search for the doubly heavy baryons Ωbc0 and Ξbc0 decaying to Λc+π- and Ξc+π-

R. Aaij et al.

Summary: The first search for the doubly heavy Omega(0)(bc) baryon and a search for the Xi(0)(bc) baryon showed no significant excess in collision data collected between 2016 and 2018. Upper limits were set on the production cross-section times the branching fraction for different lifetime hypotheses. The upper limits ranged from 0.5x10(-4) to 2.5x10(-4 for the Omega(0)(bc) -> Lambda(+)(c)pi(-) (Xi(0)(bc) -> Lambda(+)(c)pi(-)) decay, depending on the mass and lifetime considered for the baryons.

Strong vertices of doubly heavy spin-3/2-spin-1/2 baryons with light mesons in light-cone QCD sum rules

T. M. Aliev et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the vertices of doubly heavy spin-3/2-spin-1/2 baryons with light mesons using light-cone QCD sum rules, calculating coupling constants for all possible transitions. The results presented here can serve as useful information in experimental and theoretical studies of the properties of doubly heavy baryons.
