Thrombin generation measured by two platforms in patients with a bleeding tendency

Summary: The study found that a certain percentage of patients undiagnosed with traditional laboratory testing showed abnormal parameters through thrombin generation testing. However, a considerable proportion of previously diagnosed patients also exhibited abnormal parameters. No relevant lot-to-lot reagent variability was observed in the two thrombin generation testing platforms.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the impact of oral contraceptives on thrombin generation (TG) and establish reference values for men and women. Results showed that women taking oral contraceptives had significantly higher TG values, and the effect of thrombomodulin (TM) was less pronounced in these women.
