Raman study of D* band in graphene oxide and its correlation with reduction

A. Young Lee et al.

Summary: The study investigates the relationship between the intensity ratio of D* to G band and the reduction of graphene oxide (GO) to evaluate the degree of reduction of rGO. Spectral analysis and systematic research revealed a strong linkage between the D*/G intensity ratio and the C/O atomic ratio, which provides an indicator of the quality of rGO for optimal performance in applications.

Molecular, Aromatic, and Amorphous Domains of N-Carbon Dots: Leading toward the Competitive Photoluminescence and Photocatalytic Properties

Kommula Bramhaiah et al.

Summary: In this study, different types of nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) were developed by varying nitrogen-containing precursors, allowing for control over the internal structures affecting photophysical processes and photoluminescence properties. The research indicated that the photocatalytic efficiency is related to the presence of amorphous domains and nitrogen atoms positioned specifically, while photoluminescence intensity is correlated with the presence of molecular fluorophores and aromatic domains.
