ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized using green synthesis from C. sativum. The optical properties and morphology of the particles were studied, revealing a hexagonal wurtzite structure and an agglomerate of nanoflakes. The material exhibited excellent gas sensing performances, including high gas response, good selectivity, and fast response/recovery time.
ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized from C. sativum adopting green synthesis. Optical property of ZnO particles thus obtained was studied by UV spectral data, size of the particles was determined from XRD studies and morphology established from SEM micrographs. XRD data revealed the hexagonal wurtzite structure of the ZnO sample, size of the particles was about 74 nm obtained from Scherrer equation. ZnO particles appear as an agglomerate of nanoflakes. Investigation of gas sensing property establishes that the material exhibits excellent sensing performances including high gas response, good selectivity, fast response/recovery time.
