This review provides an overview of the development of chemosensors for tin ions, with a focus on Sn4+ and Sn2+. Comparison data, future opportunities, and current issues are also discussed.
The innovation of chemosensors for tin ions (Sn4+/Sn2+) has evolved as a key research topic in recent decades, garnering a lot of attention due to their environmental, industrial and biological importance. In recent years, there has been a significant amount of research on tin ion chemosensors. This review will concentrate on the development of tin ion chemosensors from 2012 to 2022, with Sn4+ and Sn2+ being discussed individually. In addition, the comparison data of all of these probes have been presented, as well as the future opportunities and current issues, in this review. As far as we know, this is the first review of tin chemosensors.
