Synthesis of Ultrathin Perovskite Nanowires via a Postsynthetic Transformation Reaction of Zero-Dimensional Perovskite Nanocrystals

Hanjun Yang et al.

Summary: A new method for synthesizing ultrathin CsPbBr3 NWs through a postsynthetic transformation reaction was proposed in the study. The morphology of the final transformation product was found to be determined by the chain length of the capping ligand, which can be applied to the synthesis of low-dimensional CsPbI3 NCs. Insights into the template-related nucleation and growth mechanisms of LHP NCs were also provided.

Zero-Dimensional Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Lead Halides and Their Post-Synthesis Reversible Transformation into Three-Dimensional Perovskites

Bas A. H. Huisman et al.

Summary: A zero-dimensional (0D) mixed-halide hybrid organic-inorganic structure has been successfully synthesized through a solvent-free mechanochemical approach, showing sharp absorption features in the near-UV. It has been demonstrated that this 0D structure can be reversibly transformed into a three-dimensional perovskite phase by simple thermal annealing in air. This work presents a new approach to studying hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites and related 0D structures.

The Role Silver Nanoparticles Plays in Silver-Based Double-Perovskite Nanocrystals

Shai Levy et al.

Summary: Lead-free double perovskites are being studied as alternatives to lead halide perovskites in optoelectronic applications, with a focus on the role of metallic silver nanoparticles in crystal growth. The nucleation of perovskite nanocrystals is shown to occur on preexisting silver seeds, with evidence of charge transfer between the perovskite and silver nanoparticles leading to modified optical properties. Understanding and controlling the reduction of Ag+ at all synthetic stages is critical for achieving stability and functionality in silver-based lead-free perovskite nanocrystals.

Recent Advances in Ligand Design and Engineering in Lead Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals

Katie Hills-Kimball et al.

Summary: Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals have superior optical and optoelectronic properties, but their strong ionic character and unstable ligand coverage make the system highly dynamic and susceptible to slight changes. The surface ligand shell is crucial throughout the lifetime of the nanocrystals. Recent advances have been made in engineering and understanding the roles of surface ligand shells in various stages of synthesis, processing, integration, and application of colloidal LHP nanocrystals.
