Summary: According to the 2019 WHO pathology grading system, high-grade gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) can be divided into well differentiated neuroendocrine tumors G3 (NETs G3) and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs). There are significant differences in driver genes and disease origin between GEP-NETs G3 and GEP-NECs, with NETs G3 showing a better prognosis than NECs and having different treatment strategies.

Evaluation of patients is done with gallium 68 DOTATATE PET/CT, with additional fluorine 18 fluorodeoxyglucose PET/CT imaging for high-grade tumors before PRRT is administered.

Clinical Outcomes of Endoscopic Treatment for Type 1 Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumor

Summary: This study retrospectively investigated 125 patients who received endoscopic treatment for gastric NETs, with results showing that the complete resection rate was higher in the ESD group compared to the EMR group, and was also higher for small lesions compared to larger lesions. Adverse events were similar between the two groups, and there was no significant difference in disease-free survival rates during follow-up.
