Circuit quantum electrodynamics

Alexandre Blais et al.

Summary: Circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED) is an independent and thriving field of research that allows unprecedented detailed study and control of light-matter interaction at the quantum level. It has become essential in current approaches to gate-based digital quantum information processing with superconducting circuits, and also provides a framework for the study of hybrid quantum systems. The coherent coupling of superconducting qubits to microwave photons, dispersive qubit readout, and different regimes of light-matter interaction are key aspects of circuit QED.

Classical description of the parameter space geometry in the Dicke and Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick models

Diego Gonzalez et al.

Summary: In this study, the researchers investigated the classical analog of the quantum metric tensor and its scalar curvature for two well-known quantum physics models. They found that in the thermodynamic limit, the classical and quantum metrics have similar behaviors near the quantum phase transition, but the scalar curvatures show divergence only under certain conditions. Additionally, numerical analysis for finite sizes revealed precursors of the quantum phase transition in metric and scalar curvature, providing insight into their characterization as functions of parameters and system size.

Population trapping in a pair of periodically driven Rydberg atoms

S. Kumar Mallavarapu et al.

Summary: The study extensively investigated population trapping in periodically driven Rydberg pairs, identifying a simple and general scheme to determine trapping regions. The population trapping in the two-atom setup may not necessarily be associated with level crossings in the Floquet spectrum, contrary to the single-atom case. Furthermore, the relationship between population trapping and dynamical stabilization was discussed, taking into account specific initial states and entangled Bell states.
