Forecast for cosmological parameter estimation with gravitational-wave standard sirens from the LISA-Taiji network

Ling-Feng Wang et al.

Summary: This study forecasts the cosmological parameter estimation using standard sirens observation from the LISA-Taiji network. The results show that the network can provide tighter constraints on cosmological parameters compared to a single Taiji mission. Additionally, the combined observation with CMB data can also constrain the equation of state of dark energy, indicating the future usefulness of the LISA-Taiji network in understanding the nature of dark energy.

Hubble parameter estimation via dark sirens with the LISA-Taiji network

Renjie Wang et al.

Summary: The Hubble parameter, a central parameter in cosmology, describes the expansion rate of the universe. Late-time observations yield higher values than early-time measurements by about 10%. The future LISA-Taiji network can accurately measure the Hubble parameter through gravitational wave observations, providing more reliable conclusions.

Science with the TianQin Observatory: Preliminary results on stochastic gravitational-wave background

Zheng-Cheng Liang et al.

Summary: This work explores the prospects of detecting the stochastic gravitational-wave background using the TianQin Observatory. It considers various sources of astrophysical and cosmological origins and studies the detectability using different detector configurations and methods. The results show an increased number of resolved double white dwarves with the joint foreground and the expected detectability of the astrophysical background dominated by extragalactic double white dwarves. However, the detection capability of the cosmological background is uncertain and depends on specific cases.

A Gravitational-wave Measurement of the Hubble Constant Following the Second Observing Run of Advanced LIGO and Virgo

B. P. Abbott et al.

Summary: This paper presents a joint measurement of the Hubble constant using gravitational-wave detections, including neutron star and black hole detections, in conjunction with galaxy catalogs. The updated measurement shows improvement over previous values, with an additional contribution from a well-localized detection. The results pave the way for cosmology using gravitational-wave observations with or without transient electromagnetic counterparts.

Chameleon dark energy can resolve the Hubble tension

Rong-Gen Cai et al.

Summary: This study suggests a late-time inhomogeneous resolution to explain the tension in the Hubble constant, proposing that a chameleon field coupled to local overdensities of matter may drive the local expansion rate faster than the background rate. By illustrating this mechanism in a toy model, it is shown that even a small region with 20% matter overdensity could resolve the Hubble tension, accommodating the Hubble constant measured by local distance ladders.
