Groundwater contamination in sub-Saharan Africa: Implications for groundwater protection in developing countries

High levels of faecal contamination and other pollutants were found in groundwater samples, indicating the need for treatment before consumption. A simple classification model was developed to assess water quality, identify pollution sources, and prioritize water infrastructure investments in developing regions.
