Dim Red Light During Scotophase Enhances Mating of a Moth Through Increased Male Antennal Sensitivity Against the Female Sex Pheromone

Qiuying Chen et al.

Summary: Insects are influenced by different light conditions, and this study found that dim red light during scotophase can enhance mating in the yellow peach moth. The enhancement may be due to an increase in male antennal sensitivity to female sex pheromones caused by up-regulation of pheromone-binding protein genes.
