Photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to methanol using Zr(IV)-based MOF composite with g-C3N4 quantum dots under visible light irradiation

Karanika Sonowal et al.

Summary: This study presents a method for selectively photoreducing CO2 to methanol using a composite of graphene-like carbon nitride quantum dots and zirconium-based MOFs under visible light irradiation. The graphene-like carbon nitride quantum dots act as co-catalysts, improving the electronic conductance properties of the composite and elongating the lifetime of photogenerated charge carriers, thus accelerating the generation of catalytically active sites and achieving better selectivity and efficiency in methanol formation.
