Nickel clusters accelerating hierarchical zinc indium sulfide nanoflowers for unprecedented visible-light hydrogen production

Novel Carboxy-Functionalized PVP-CdS Nanopopcorns with Homojunctions for Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

Summary: Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution is a scalable way to generate hydrogen fuels, and surface modification is key to improving the efficiency. This study fabricated PVP-capped CdS nanopopcorns via gamma-ray radiation reduction and achieved significantly enhanced photocatalytic activity through alkaline treatment. The results showed that alkaline treatment increased the exposed active sites and affected the band gap and valence band position of CdS through carboxyl groups, leading to improved photocatalytic performance.

Morphology Engineering of BiVO4 with CoOx Derived from Cobalt-containing Polyoxometalate as Co-catalyst for Oxygen Evolution

Lamellar flower-like porous MoS2 as an efficient cocatalyst to boost photocatalytic hydrogen evolution of CdS

Summary: The photocatalytic H-2 evolution activity of CdS was significantly enhanced by fabricating a unique porous MoS2 cocatalyst with a lamellar structure. The enhanced activity of the porous MoS2/CdS composite was attributed to the distinctive cocatalyst structure, including coexisting spherical porous and lamellar structures, as well as a heterojunction structure between MoS2 and CdS. The heterojunction structure accelerated the transfer of photo-induced electrons, leading to improved visible-light utilization and potential enhancement of H-2 evolution activities in other photocatalysts.
