Geraniol relieves mycoplasma pneumonia infection-induced lung injury in mice through the regulation of ERK/JNK and NF-κB signaling pathways

Yang-Shan Fu et al.

Summary: The present study investigated the ameliorative properties of geraniol against M. pneumoniae-provoked pneumonia in mice through the modulation of inflammatory responses. The results showed that geraniol effectively reduced lung weight, NO level, and MPO activity, while improving SOD activity and GSH level in the pneumonia mice. Geraniol also suppressed inflammatory cytokines and inhibited ERK1/2 and NF-kappa B expressions in the lung tissues. These findings suggest that geraniol could be a hopeful therapeutic agent for treating pneumonia.

Anti-oxidant impact of Lisinopril and Enalapril against acute kidney injury induced by doxorubicin in male Wistar rats: involvement of kidney injury molecule-1

Gihan F. Asaad et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that the adverse effects of DOX can be mitigated by the combination treatment of Lisinopril and Enalapril, leading to improved kidney function and decreased markers of kidney injury. These findings suggest that ACE inhibitors have potential in reducing the harmful effects of DOX on renal function.
