Reliable methods to look for analytical and numerical solutions of a nonlinear differential equation arising in heat transfer with the conformable derivative

Kamyar Hosseini et al.

Summary: The paper conducts a comprehensive study on analytical and numerical solutions of a nonlinear differential equation with the conformable derivative in heat transfer. Various techniques including the homotopy analysis method, the operational collocation method based on Jacobi polynomials, and the finite difference method are adopted to obtain the solutions. A comparison between the analytical and numerical solutions in two-dimensional postures demonstrates their consistency. Moreover, the effect of the parameter alpha on the dynamical features of the obtained solutions is investigated graphically.

Analysis and discretization of a variable-order fractional wave equation

Xiangcheng Zheng et al.

Summary: In this study, a variable-order time-fractional wave equation is analyzed to model phenomena such as membrane vibration in a viscoelastic environment. The characteristics of the solutions and optimal error estimates of numerical discretization are proven, with a new technique developed to achieve the desired convergence rate. Numerical experiments are conducted to substantiate the mathematically proved findings.

Optimal-order error estimates of finite element approximations to variable-order time-fractional diffusion equations without regularity assumptions of the true solutions

Xiangcheng Zheng et al.

Summary: The paper investigates fully discretized finite element approximations to variable-order Caputo and Riemann-Liouville time-fractional diffusion equations in multiple space dimensions. It proves error estimates for the proposed methods under regularity assumptions, showing optimal-order convergence rates on uniform temporal partitions. Numerical experiments are conducted to verify the performance of the methods.

An analytic study on the approximate solution of a nonlinear time-fractional Cauchy reaction-diffusion equation with the Mittag-Leffler law

Kamyar Hosseini et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the approximate solution of a nonlinear time-fractional Cauchy reaction-diffusion equation with the Mittag-Leffler law using the homotopy analysis transform method, as well as studying the existence and uniqueness of the solution. The influence of the order of the time-fractional operator on displacement is examined in detail through the analysis of two- and three-dimensional graphs.

On the exact solutions to Biswas-Arshed equation involving truncated M-fractional space-time derivative terms

Yesim Saglam Ozkan

Summary: Two different schemes, the extended hyperbolic auxiliary and the simplest equation method, are employed to construct exact solutions involving parameters of the BAM model with truncated M-fractional derivative. Additionally, the analytical solutions are obtained by applying the semi-inverse variational principle to the underlying equation. Different traveling wave solutions are investigated and 3D graphic representations are used to explain the principal effect of parameter mu on dynamical properties of the soliton solutions. The stability property of the obtained solutions is tested through physical experiments, and the general solution of the nonlinear ordinary differential equation corresponding to the underlying equation is found using traveling wave reduction.

Numerical comparison of Caputo and Conformable derivatives of time fractional Burgers-Fisher equation

Asif Yokus et al.

Summary: The sub-equation method is used to obtain new types of complex traveling wave solutions for the time-fractional Burgers-Fisher equation. The study compares exact complex traveling wave solutions with numerical solutions obtained through different derivatives, and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the derivatives. A new initial condition is created using the obtained solution, and numerical solutions are obtained using the finite difference method.

An efficient computational approach for local fractional Poisson equation in fractal media

Jagdev Singh et al.

Summary: This article analyzes the local fractional Poisson equation (LFPE) using the q-homotopy analysis transform method (q-HATM), discussing the nature of the equation and demonstrating the efficiency of the method in handling partial differential equations with fractional derivatives. The results show that the suggested scheme is easy to employ and computationally very accurate, providing better physical consequences of the Poisson equation with local fractional derivative through graphical representation.
