Spectroscopic Probing Of Mn-Doped ZnO Nanowires Synthesized via a Microwave-Assisted Route

Mohamad Hasan Aleinawi et al.

Summary: Transition-metal-doped ZnO is a potential dilute magnetic semiconductor for spintronic applications. This report presents the synthesis of manganese-doped ZnO using a microwave-assisted hydrolysis technique, and investigates the defect structure via electron paramagnetic resonance and photoluminescence techniques, revealing that Mn2+ dominates the intrinsic defect species in ZnO.

ZnO and MXenes as electrode materials for supercapacitor devices

Ameen Uddin Ammar et al.

Summary: The choice of electrode material is crucial for the efficiency of supercapacitor devices, with metal oxides and MXenes emerging as potential candidates. While the discussion of MXenes and ZnO highlights differences in dimensionality regarding defect-driven effects, the volume under the influence of defect centers is expected to differ between bulk and 2D structures.

Theoretical study by analytical equations of optical properties of the phosphors Zn2SnO4 codoped with Cr3+ and (Al3+ or Eu3+) via the crystal field control

Hajer Souissi et al.

Summary: The study examines the phenomenon of persistent luminescence in Zn2SnO4 phosphors doped with Cr3+ and codoped with Al3+ or Eu3+, focusing on the role of Cr3+ ions, the influence of codoping with Al3+ and Eu3+, and the role of traps. Additionally, an energy transfer mechanism is proposed based on analyses of PLE, PL spectra, and TL curves.

Structural and optical investigation of Co-doped ZnO nanoparticles for nanooptoelectronic devices

S. Kammoun et al.

Summary: Cobalt-doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized via a sol-gel procedure, and their structural, morphological, and optical properties were investigated. The results showed that Co2+ ions substitute Zn2+ ions in a ZnO lattice and affect the bandgap energy of ZnO.

Effect of heat treatment on electrical and surface properties of tungsten oxide thin films grown by HFCVD technique

Guang-Lei Tan et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and electrical properties of tungsten oxide thin films deposited on stainless steel 316L substrate using the HFCVD system. Characterization tools such as XRD, SEM, AFM, and Raman spectroscopy were employed to study the structural, morphological, and surface properties of the films. Results show that increased substrate temperature leads to improved crystallinity, grain size, and reduced defects and electrical resistivity in the thin films. This study provides a convenient method for preparing tungsten thin films with potential applications in optoelectronic, photovoltaic, and energy storage devices.

Optical absorption properties of ZnF2-RO-TeO2 (R = Pb, Cd and Zn) glasses doped with chromium (III): Neuhauser model and crystal field study

O. Taktak et al.

Summary: This study investigates the structural and optical properties of tellurite glasses doped with Cr3+ by using the Neuhauser model to analyze interference dips observed in the absorption spectra. The analysis provides precise values of experimental energy levels and explains the origin of interference dips. Additionally, a detailed crystal-field analysis of the visible lines associated with transitions between energy levels is conducted, and comparison with homolog glasses is made, showing good agreement between theoretical and experimental results.
