Summary: The Raman spectrum provides unique signatures for different species and their responses to environmental stressors. In situ Raman imaging can vividly translate spectroscopic fingerprints into snapshots of molecular species or physiological reactions. Machine learning applied to Raman analysis demonstrates valuable potential in biophysics research.
