Three-in-One Multi-Level Design of MoS2-Based Anodes for Enhanced Sodium Storage: from Atomic to Macroscopic Level

Simi Sui et al.

Summary: A three-in-one multi-level design was used to develop a carbon-coated phosphorous-doped MoS2 anchored on carbon nanotube paper (P-MoS2@C/CNTP) for sodium-ion battery anodes. The optimized structure enhances Na+ diffusion, electron transport, and overall stability. The synergistic mechanism was demonstrated through electrochemical measurements and theoretical calculations, showing high rate performance and long cycling life for the P-MoS2@C/CNTP anode.

Single atom Fe-dispersed graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) as a highly efficient peroxymonosulfate photocatalytic activator for sulfamethoxazole degradation

Gang Zhao et al.

Summary: A highly efficient single atom Fe-dispersed catalyst with Fe-N-4 coordination structure was synthesized for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation and sulfamethoxazole (SMX) degradation. The catalyst showed excellent performance in PMS activation and SMX removal, with a high turnover efficiency and good stability. Identification of reaction active species and proposed degradation mechanism for SMX provide valuable insights for sulfate radical-based advanced oxidation processes.

Gram-Scale production of Cu3P-Cu2O Janus nanoparticles into nitrogen and phosphorous doped porous carbon framework as bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting

Jinliang Zhu et al.

Summary: Transition metal phosphides and oxides are used as inexpensive alternatives for precious metal catalysts in electrochemical reactions. This study reports the synthesis of a Cu3P-Cu2O Janus bifunctional catalyst in a N, P-doped 3D hierarchically porous carbon framework (Cu3P-Cu2O/NPC), which shows superior activity and stability in the HER and OER processes. The designed Cu3P-Cu2O/NPC catalyst demonstrates low overpotentials and high current densities, making it a promising electrocatalyst for future industrial applications.

N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Stabilized Ultrasmall Gold Nanoclusters in a Metal-Organic Framework for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

Yilin Jiang et al.

Summary: Ultrafine gold nanoclusters (Au-NCs) can be stabilized in a heterogeneous nucleation approach within an NHC-functionalized porous matrix, with tunable sizes based on MOF topology for superior photocatalytic CO2 reduction activity. Control experiments using different functionalized MOFs resulted in Au species aggregation. The synergistic catalytic effect of MOFs and Au-NCs through covalent bonding bridges was revealed in mechanistic studies, contributing to the excellent performance of the Au-NC@MOF composite.

In situ Irradiated XPS Investigation on S-Scheme TiO2@ZnIn2S4 Photocatalyst for Efficient Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

Libo Wang et al.

Summary: Efficient hierarchical photocatalysts, such as the S-scheme core-shell TiO2@ZnIn2S4 heterojunction, have gained attention for photocatalytic CO2 reduction. The improved performance is attributed to the inhibited recombination of photogenerated charge carriers induced by the S-scheme heterojunction, as well as the large specific surface areas and abundant active sites. In situ irradiated X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, work function calculation, and electron paramagnetic resonance measurements confirm the S-scheme photogenerated charge transfer mechanism.
