Traversable Wormholes in General Relativity

R. A. Konoplya et al.

Summary: Blazquez-Salcedo et al. obtained asymptotically flat traversable wormhole solutions in the Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell theory without phantom matter. The previously found solutions had issues, whereas the new solutions are asymmetric and endowed with smooth gravitational and matter fields, making them more realistic.

Wormholes without exotic matter: quasinormal modes, echoes and shadows

M. S. Churilova et al.

Summary: Analytical solutions for traversable asymptotically flat and symmetric wormholes have been obtained independently in two different theories, without the need for exotic matter. Additionally, a numerically obtained smooth normalizable asymmetric wormhole solution has been achieved in one of the theories. The study focuses on the quasinormal ringing of these wormholes, particularly in mimicking near extremal Reissner-Nordstrom black holes, and calculates the radius of shadows cast by the wormholes.

Traversable Wormholes in Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell Theory

Jose Luis Blazquez-Salcedo et al.

Summary: In this study, a specific example of traversable wormholes in Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell theory without exotic matter is constructed. These solutions represent localized states and satisfy a generalized Smarr relation, being connected with extremal black holes. An exact wormhole solution with ungauged, massless fermions is also reported.

Gravitational lensing in the Simpson-Visser black-bounce spacetime in a strong deflection limit

Naoki Tsukamoto

Summary: The Simpson-Visser spacetime is versatile in understanding the gravitational lensing of light rays reflected by a photon sphere of black holes and wormholes. Different parameter values correspond to different types of spacetime metrics, with specific conditions leading to unique phenomena in gravitational lensing effects.

Echoes of novel black-bounce spacetimes

Yi Yang et al.

Summary: The study discusses the importance of echo signals in understanding the characteristics of novel black-bounce spacetimes and analyzes the features of echo signals in detail. The research found that in novel black-bounce spacetimes, echo signals only appear when the parameter a > 2M, and they will transform into the quasinormal ringdown of two-way traversable wormholes as the parameter a increases.

Alternative mechanism for black hole echoes

Hang Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, the authors discuss the mechanism of black hole gravitational wave echoes caused by discontinuity, and the echoing properties related to pole structures. The research shows that uneven matter distribution may be closely related to the phenomenon of echoes.

Probing a black-bounce, traversable wormhole with weak deflection gravitational lensing

Xiao-Tong Cheng et al.

Summary: This study focuses on investigating the signatures of a black-bounce, traversable wormhole spacetime through weak deflection gravitational lensing, utilizing measurements and observations from GRAVITY. Three astrophysical scenarios are examined to verify the spacetime, using measurements from the near-infrared interferometer GRAVITY to further test the predictions.

Echoes from phantom wormholes

Hang Liu et al.

Summary: The study reveals the obvious signals of echoes around phantom wormholes, reflecting their properties and uncovering the physical reasons behind such phenomena. As the state parameter of dark energy approaches the phantom divide, the delay time of echoes becomes longer, affecting the characteristics and detection of echo signals. The echo of gravitational waves is expected to be detected in the near future, and the signature of the dark energy equation of state in the echo spectrum can serve as a local measurement of dark energy.
