AI-Powered In-Vehicle Passenger Monitoring Using Low-Cost mm-Wave Radar

Hajar Abedi et al.

Summary: We propose a novel algorithm using a frequency modulated continuous wave radar to identify occupied seats in a motor vehicle. By integrating machine learning algorithms with a low-cost radar system, we can predict the number of occupants and their positions. Experimental results show that our proposed system using an SVM classifier achieves an overall accuracy of 97% in both multiclass classification and binary classification methods.

Fastening the initial access in 5G NR sidelink for 6G V2X networks

Marouan Mizmizi et al.

Summary: This work explores alternative Initial Access techniques for accelerating 6G design, including cooperative position-based schemes and Probabilistic Codebook techniques. The study demonstrates that PCB-based beam selection outperforms the 5G standard in terms of IA trials, with performance comparable to position-based methods without the need for sensitive information signaling.

Empirical Feasibility Analysis for Energy Harvesting Intravehicular Wireless Sensor Networks

Mertkan Koca et al.

Summary: Vehicle systems currently rely on wired networks for power delivery and communication, but energy harvesting intravehicular wireless sensor networks offer a more cost-effective and flexible alternative. Through empirical analysis, it was found that mmWave performs best in the engine compartment, while UWB provides the highest security and reliability in the chassis and passenger compartments.

Stochastic Dosimetry Assessment of the Human RF-EMF Exposure to 3D Beamforming Antennas in indoor 5G Networks

Marta Bonato et al.

Summary: This study combined traditional computational methods with a new stochastic dosimetry approach to evaluate exposure levels for 1000 different antenna beamforming patterns, revealing high exposure variability depending on the antenna's beamforming patterns. The analysis also identified elevation and azimuth angle ranges of the main antenna beam that may cause the highest levels of exposure.

Use of Machine Learning for the Estimation of Down- and Up-Link Field Exposure in Multi-Source Indoor WiFi Scenarios

Gabriella Tognola et al.

Summary: A novel Machine Learning method based on Neural Networks is proposed to assess RF exposure generated by WiFi sources in indoor scenarios. The NN model achieved remarkable field prediction accuracy across exposure conditions in different layouts by using easily obtainable data such as the position of WiFi sources and material characteristics of walls.
