Summary: The first COVID-19 vaccination in the NHS of England was administered on 8 December 2020. This study aimed to describe trends and variations in vaccine coverage among different clinical and demographic groups in the first 100 days of the vaccine rollout. By 17 March 2021, 36.0% of patients had received a vaccine, with significant differences in vaccination rates among various demographic groups. Targeted efforts may be necessary to address lower vaccine coverage observed among certain key groups.

Summary: Individuals with SUD in residential treatment programs in California were found to be aware of COVID-19 transmission modes, but less than half trusted the safety and efficacy of a COVID-19 vaccine. Factors associated with trust in a COVID-19 vaccine included age and consistent mask-wearing. African Americans were less likely to trust the safety and efficacy of a COVID-19 vaccine compared to White participants.

Public acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines: cross-national evidence on levels and individual-level predictors using observational data

Summary: This study examined the levels and predictors of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in eight Western democracies, revealing significant variations in acceptance rates among different countries. Lack of vaccine acceptance was associated with distrust in authorities and scientists, conspiratorial thinking, and a lack of concern about COVID-19. Most national levels of vaccine acceptance were found to fall below estimates for herd immunity, emphasizing the importance of building trust for health emergencies and focusing on personal consequences of infections in health communication strategies.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis found that pre-existing mental disorders, specifically psychotic and mood disorders, and exposure to antipsychotics and anxiolytics were associated with an increased risk of COVID-19 mortality. The study highlighted the need for targeted approaches to manage and prevent COVID-19 in at-risk patient groups identified in this study. Further research is needed to determine the underlying mechanisms of these associations.
